While this fight may look relatively even on paper, HyunSung Park presents more clear upside — both in terms of finishing ability and long-term potential. At current odds, Park is a justifiable play given the tools he brings into this matchup.
Park is the more powerful and physically stronger fighter, and he holds a notable edge in grappling. He’s more likely to find dominant positions, secure back takes, or even lock in a submission. Hernandez, by contrast, typically wins through volume and pace, often relying on close scorecards and marginal striking advantages rather than clear dominance. His recent wins have mostly come via narrow decisions, and he hasn't shown the same level of finishing instinct or physicality.
Hernandez may win some minutes on the feet through activity, but Park is expected to win the bigger moments — whether that’s a clean knockdown, back control, or a momentum-swinging sequence. Park's ceiling also appears higher overall, and while there are some valid concerns with this being a slight step up in competition, the skill set he brings should translate well.
It’s also worth noting that the UFC seems to continue matching Hernandez with Korean or Asian prospects — and he hasn’t convincingly shut that narrative down. His fights tend to be tight, whereas Park has the potential to win clearly by decision or by finish.
