Borna Ćorić, 28, made a solid return to the top 100, climbing 16 spots from No. 112 to No. 96. The Croatian’s rise comes after his performances at the Naples Challenger, where he came in as the seventh seed. Although he lost to Stan Wawrinka in the second round, Ćorić’s performance signals a positive comeback after a difficult period.
Arthur Fils: France’s Rising Star
Arthur Fils, the 20-year-old French talent, had an impressive week at the Miami Masters, climbing three spots from No. 18 to No. 15. Despite battling a back injury, Fils made a significant impact, notably defeating world No. 1 Alexander Zverev (2 ATP) in a thrilling 3-set match. Čilić had a dominant run, defeating the No. 1 seed Marton Fucsovics (90 ATP) in the second round, followed by Pablo Carreño Busta (110) in the quarterfinals, and the 4th seed Jesper De Jong (98 ATP) in the semifinals. His experience and resilience shone through as he earned his way to the title. While Čilić’s ranking is no longer in the top 10, his performance shows he can still turn back the clock and compete at a high level and is far from done on the ATP circuit.
Jakub Menšík: A Dream Run in Miami
Jakub Menšík, 19, had the week of his career, soaring from No. 30 to No. 24 after winning the Miami Masters 1000 title. Menšík’s remarkable run included victories over 6th seed Jack Draper (7 ATP), who was coming off winning the Indian Wells Masters 1000 the previous week. He then received a walkover against Tomas Machac (21 ATP). He took this chance and proceeded to beat the home favourite and number 3 seeded Taylor Fritz (4 ATP). But it was his stunning final win over Novak Djokovic that truly stole the show. Menšík triumphed in straight sets, 7-6(4), 7-6(4), to claim his first Masters 1000 title, and complete a dream run. This victory catapulted him into the ATP Top 25 and proved that he’s a rising star capable of competing with the best in the world.
